THE FINANCIAL CRISIS IS ONLY IN BRAZIL, AND GLOBAL?
THE FINANCIAL CRISIS IS ONLY IN BRAZIL, AND GLOBAL?
Dr. Luis de Almeida
“When written in Chinese the word crisis is composed of two characters: one represents danger and the other represents opportunity” (John Kennedy, Brookline, May 29, 1917 – assassinated in Dallas, November 22, 1963, was an American politician who served as president 35 ° in the land of Uncle Sam).
A first question: Brazil is going through a period of crisis? The answer is: Yes, and it is not a small crisis, easily surmountable, is deeper and very different from that crisis in the years 1929 and 1930, as reported to the researchers, however, less apparent than its severity could demonstrate.. First of all is the reflection of a bad federal government at the behest of PT. In the simple approach when installed crisis in Brazil, which is not present, takes us along past history, where we find the 1929 crisis, which is still called the Great Depression. In fact, according to history tells us, the crisis had its beginning in 1929 but persisted throughout the 1930s, ending only during the Second World War, of which Brazil also participated with the Brazilian Expeditionary Force call. The crisis of 1929, was named the Great Depression because of the long period of global economic recession of the twentieth century. Because of this Economic Crisis, came the great high in unemployment, dramatic falls in GDP, industrial production, prices of shares and in other gauges of economic activity worldwide. Just follow the movement of financial stocks in the capital market. The registration of the beginning of the great crisis of 1929 marks the 24th of October 1929, although the notes point that since the month of July the American industrial production already showed signs of economic recession, because the shares on the New York Stock Exchange Stock Exchange began to fall sharply, announcing the so-called Black Thursday. Installed the 1929 crisis, it was not a few who lost everything they had and were still indebted. How could it happen, the crisis of 1929 also heavily hit Brazil’s economy, which was no longer strong, very dependent on our only good export product, coffee. But more than generating economic difficulties, the crash caused a shift in the focus of power in the country. Stemmed internal political turmoil with sharp force until the present day. For the 1929 crisis fueled another who settled in Brazil in the 1930s, the political crisis, when we had the Revolution in the same year, armed movement led by the states of Minas Gerais, Paraíba and Rio Grande do Sul, which ended with the called coup, ie the 1930 coup, which ended up toppling President Luiz Washington on October 24, 1930, and prevented the inauguration of president-elect Julio Prestes, ending the Old Republic.
At that time, a reaction movement, the miner governor Antonio Carlos Ribeiro de Andrada supported the candidacy of Getulio Vargas for 1 elections. March 1930 won by Júlio Prestes, who did not take possession, triggering the coup on 3 October 1930. This major crisis hit the entire global sphere, including the Brazilian nation, which had as an emerging point the troubled domestic policy . A major crisis was obviously linked to the phenomenon of globalization, which is much talk today. He shook the world!
However, this was not the only crisis the world financial system and experts say that the current will not be the last because it is not new. The current crisis is very different from the years 1929/1930 it is a combination of several problems at once, with the logic of capitalism itself and of politics itself. And the logic of capital is being focused on the intention to always accumulate more profits by putting into practice a theory that is the engine of the economy. We can say that the current crisis is widespread, involving several segments, a dramatic combination that arrives surreptitiously to a crisis also feed motivated by unemployment, underproduction, corruption, bad governance and high rise in the price of essential commodities for survival. But it is still a crisis similar to the years 1929/1930 and not unlike many other why Brazil has crossed om underproduction, underconsumption, financial shock, inflation and corruption.
We are not the time of great crisis, the Great Depression, but studies about him reveals its current size and overall effect today greater than that observed in the years 1929/1930. For our part, we believe that financial capital, for which we are all facing in some way, it is more profitable than productive, it is who determines the economy of our days, so logic tells us admit that it is capitalism (everyone’s greed) the generator, the engine that leverages and makes the law of today’s world economy. Causes arguably also the food crisis, because on the one hand, there is great speculation – the price of horticultural products (the villain with a 100% increase in the year), increases in fuel, gas, electricity, water and other products and derivatives, all for a simple speculative reason, and the people who are responsible for all this, for all the damage resulting. The global crisis is felt beyond all borders. Unemployment, cost of living, the exclusion of the poor, misery, vulnerability of the middle classes, will continue to cause an increase in the list of victims worldwide, not only in Brazil. The current crisis is not an accident along the way, or the result of abuse by some economic artists who need to be punished, as Guido Mantega and Mrs. Dilma Roussef who were not able to avoid it or reduce its proportions. The crisis is always on the pressure of profit rates (and interest) under the monitoring Joaquim Levi. But today’s crisis is not new. Not the first of the financial system and not be the last. Know that if the financialization of the Brazilian economy favors the increase of the rate of profit and the notorious speculation accelerates the phenomenon called by crisis and say except for direct result of a “bad government PT”, the organization of the economy as a whole will continue this way. All this creates a crisis, as indicated in the UN Commission report, a macroeconomic crisis. However, as always, the people suffer but pays the bill …
